Work with Google Analytics
How Crux connects to Google Analytics (GA4) — status, setup, and how reports become Research tables, evidence, and persona suggestions.
Status: Available
Pull aggregate GA4 audience and behaviour reports into Research as tables, then review AI-suggested evidence lines and persona attributes before anything is applied.
Setup
- On a paid plan, connect Google Analytics under Settings → External sources, or via Create → Connect / Create → Upload/Import → Analytics.
- Authorise Google with Analytics read-only access (if you have not already).
- Pick a GA4 property, date range, and report presets (audience, acquisition, top pages, key events, tech split).
- Crux imports each preset as a research table, then proposes evidence and persona suggestions for you to confirm.
Re-importing the same property, preset, and date range updates the existing table in place (with revision history).
Disconnect anytime from Settings → External sources — imported tables and linked evidence stay in the project.
How it fits
Crux keeps Research (evidence, tables, personas) and Experience linked. Google Analytics adds quantitative profile data to that loop — it does not replace GA4 as your analytics workspace.
Imported tables show Analytics in the research source filter. Suggested evidence can link back to the table (and specific rows) in the Graph tab.
Notes
- OAuth is read-only aggregate reporting — no user-level or PII dimensions.
- Connections are per user; teammates connect their own Google accounts.
- Disconnecting never deletes tables or evidence already imported.
- Google Analytics OAuth is separate from Google Drive, so scopes stay focused.
