Applying and materialising answers

An Ask answer is a proposal. Crux gives you three routes to turn one into real work — and none of them fires until you click.

Apply into the open item

When you have a document tab open, an answer offers Apply actions that write into that item. Which actions appear depends on what is open:

Review the answer first; the apply writes exactly what you approved.

Materialise new artefacts

Materialise buttons under an answer create new items in the project instead of editing the open one:

• Save as note, Add as evidence, Save as table
• Create to-dos, Create personas, Create journey(s)
• Save & submit plan — when the answer is a plan, this creates the milestones, the activities under them, and the to-dos under those, with their dates and owners
• An overflow menu covers Assumptions, Questions, Gaps, and Pages

Materialised artefacts land in the relevant tab as ordinary items, ready to open and refine.

Preview before it lands

The two largest materialisations open a preview rather than writing straight away. Create to-dos shows each next step for you to edit or uncheck. Save & submit plan shows the plan as a tree — milestones, their activities, and the to-dos beneath — where you can edit titles, dates, and owners, and uncheck anything you do not want; unchecking a parent takes its children with it.

Generate on detail fields

Detail fields carry a Generate button that runs a one-shot Ask scoped to that field. The proposal appears in place, editable before you accept it — handy for descriptions and summaries you would otherwise draft by hand.

Everything is a proposal
