Plan people & owners
The project people directory — teammates, external contacts, and personas — and how owners are assigned to milestones, activities, and to-dos.
A plan that does not say who is doing the work is a list of wishes. Every level of a Crux plan carries people, and they all come from one directory so a name means the same thing wherever it appears.
The People tab
Plan → People holds everyone connected to the project, in three sections:
- Team — members of your organisation. They are there automatically; there is nothing to add.
- People — external contacts you add yourself: a client, an agency, a contractor, a stakeholder outside the org.
- Personas — the research personas in the project, listed here so the people you are building for sit alongside the people building it.
Add person takes a Full name, an optional Role, and an optional Email. Both are editable later, and external people can be removed. Anyone you add is saved to the project, so the second time you assign them they are already in the list.
Assigning owners
The same picker appears everywhere work can be owned, and it offers your organisation's members first, then the project's external people, with the option to add someone new without leaving the picker.
| Where | Field | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Milestone | Owner | Accountable for the milestone landing |
| Milestone | People | Involved in the work, but not accountable for the outcome |
| Activity | People | Who is on this piece of work |
| To-do | Owners | Who is doing the task |
Only milestones split ownership in two. Activities and to-dos take a flat list, because the accountability question is already settled by the milestone above them.
Where owners show up
Owner chips appear on the Overview outline, on calendar chips, and on timeline bars, so you can read who is carrying what without opening anything. To-do rows show their owner alongside the due date and activity chips.
