Search across your project

Open search with ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) from anywhere in a project. One box searches everything: research items, experience entities, file contents, and highlights.

How matching works

Crux combines vector and exact matching, so a search for "cancellation" finds documents that say "churn" as well as literal matches. Results are grouped by type, and each one opens directly — a research item as a document tab, an experience entity in its detail view, a highlight in its source document.

When the quick pass isn't enough, use Search deeper to run a fuller semantic pass over your project's embeddings. It takes a moment longer and surfaces passages the quick results missed.

Browsing without a query

With an empty query, the search panel doubles as a browser:

• Highlights — review captured passages across all sources.
• Labels — jump to everything carrying a label.
• Recent searches and recently opened items, for getting back to where you were.

Press Escape to close the panel. While search is open, Ask steps aside so results stay front and centre.

Tips

• Name things well. Item titles and file names carry the most weight in results.
• Label as you go. Labels make browse mode genuinely useful and improve filtered searches.
• Search before you ask. If you just need to find a document, search is faster than Ask; if you need an answer synthesised across documents, that's Ask's job.
