The free trial

New Crux accounts start with a 3-day free trial of Pro features. No credit card is required to start.

What the trial includes

During the trial your personal workspace behaves like Pro:

• Ask & agents — grounded answers with citations, plus the agents that seed your graphs during project setup.
• All three Agent models, including Capable.
• AI highlights & labelling, audio and video transcription, and text extraction from images.
• Uploads up to 400 MB per file, so a full interview recording fits.
• Google Drive import.
• A Pro-sized AI credit grant for the trial period.

When the trial ends

Your account moves to the Free plan automatically — nothing is deleted:

• All projects, files, highlights, and both your research and experience graphs remain intact.
• Paid-gated features (Ask & agents, the Capable Agent model, AI highlights & labelling, transcription, image text extraction, Drive import) become unavailable until you upgrade.
• Per-file uploads return to the Free limit of 15 MB, so large recordings will be refused until you upgrade. Files already uploaded stay where they are.
• Unused trial credits don't carry over; the Free plan's allowance applies.

Upgrading

Upgrade at any time — during or after the trial — from the plans page. Individual work continues on Pro; teams should look at the organisation plans (see Teams & organisations).
